CHRISTINE SINCLAIR
International Gospel Recording Artist

The voice of renowned vocalist Christine Johnson Sinclair, has been heard throughout the world. Her unique vocal style is a blend of classical and gospel that has enabled her to comfortably negotiate both areas with power and beauty. Christine was one of the original members of the SUNY Cortland Gospel Choir, and is honored to be a part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration. She graduated from SUNY Cortland with a BA in Music (Vocal Performance), and minor in German. She completed her Music/German studies in Heidelberg, Germany as part of the SUNY Cortland study abroad program. Christine was born and raised in Cortland, NY and is the daughter of Joan R. Johnson and the late Dr. Ellis A. Johnson, Professor of History Emeritus, SUNY Cortland. She attended elementary school right on the SUNY Cortland campus when the college sponsored the Campus School, and graduated from Cortland High School.

Sinclair has performed across the United States, Europe, South Africa, Malawi Africa, the Caribbean, and Canada. She has appeared on numerous Radio and Television shows including BBC, 3ABN, the Hope Channel, and The Bobby Jones Gospel Show on The Word Network. In January 2010, she sang for the My9 TV Hope for Haiti Telethon broadcast live from the Fox 5 Studios in NYC. In August 2010, her one hour episode of the 3ABN Today Show debuted world-wide on the Three Angel's Broadcasting Network. The program was an in-depth look into the life and music of Sinclair. In 2008, a similar program entitled "My Story, My Song" was broadcast world-wide on The Hope Channel, and has been re-broadcast several times.

Christine was the 2009 Soloist Winner of the McDonald's Gospelfest starring Patti LaBelle. The event was held at the Prudential Center Stadium in Newark, NJ, and featured numerous gospel recording artists such as Cissy Houston, CeCe Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Vickie Winans, and Regina Belle. Sinclair has been in concert with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Richard Smallwood, Wintley Phipps, and David Lewis (Atlantic Starr). Major venues include the Apollo Theater; Madison Square Garden; the Skydome of the Americas in St. Louis; the Skydome in Toronto, and in June of 2010, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. (Each dome performance was before a live audience of approximately 70,000 people.)

She has four CD recordings entitled, Yes, God is Real; Holy Ground; Praise from the Soul, and her latest release, Hymns & Inspirational Songs of Reflection, all of which will be available on sale today outside of the auditorium. CDs can be purchased on-line at www.sinclairmusic.com. "The opportunity to proclaim the gospel to the world through song is truly a privilege", she says. God keeps opening doors. Christine resides in Stamford, CT with husband Robin Sinclair, daughter Jaslyn, and son Noah.
